That
was loads of fun! And I must say, it was a great day. Well, we
all changed back into our normal, and dry, clothes, and stood
around talking and laughing. I was really glad that everyone had
as fun a time as I did. It was a lot of work, the paddle back,
and I am sure that everyone was nervous while on the water. But
they all seemed to enjoy it too. A job well done!
I
brought out my sandwich from my lunch box to snack, since I was
getting hungry again, and then everyone started pulling out more
snacks, cookies, brownies, etc. It looked like we were gonna make
good on the idea of an after paddle picnic as well. Maybe I could
eat more, after I finish my sandwich, that is.
Todd
proceeded to setup up a grill and light it with a canister
of White Gas that he brought just for the occasion. He wastes
no time in getting a fire started. Those of us that still
had time before we had to get onto other things, sat around
and talked while we ate burgers, hot dogs, more cookies,
brownies, and more that I cannot remember any longer.

If
this trip is to be taken as a portent of the season
just starting off at Jack's Boathouse, then I
will say that it should be an awesome season!
Today, we had lots of good friends who came from
all around; VA, D.C., MD, WV. We all came together
to work and play. We watched out for each other
when the going was rough, and made sure that everyone
had a great time. We talked and laughed together
and shared the time.
Thanks
to everyone who came to the Cherry Blossoms Paddle!
