Tonight we had our last paddle of the 2004 CPA season in Georgetown. 17 of us -- yep, that's right, 17 paddlers -- draped ourselves in Halloween finery, hopped into our boats, and paddled from Jack's Boats and Key Bridge, down past the waterfront, and back up along the backside of Roosevelt Island.

The few folks out and about were treated to
* The Starkayak Enterprise (complete with Warp Engine Nacelles and a bald captain),

* Lots of pirates (well we are after all),

* A Viking,

* An assortment of ghouls,

* A queen, and waiting for us on the dock,

* A rabbit and a cat

Candy and rubber duckies were the prizes

We ate and drank and toasted the end of our fifth season in Georgetown. Thanks to all who brought food and drink.

Dave, Cyndi, and I want to thank everyone that came out to paddle with us this year. We have certainly enjoyed getting to know you better and hope that we will see you again next year.

The Georgetown Mutineers and Frost Pirates will be paddling intermittently throughout the winter. If you are interested, contact Dave Biss. Our regular season will resume for 2005 sometime after the beginning of Daylight Savings Time in early April. The exact date will depend on runoff, air temperatures, and most importantly, water temperatures.
